Job description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Confidential Executive Opportunity

Location:  Northwest Florida (Relocation Assistance Available)

About the Opportunity

Green Humanity Recruitment is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a highly successful, fourth-generation, privately owned manufacturing organization headquartered in the southeastern United States.

With nearly a century of history, the company has built an outstanding reputation for operational excellence, financial stability, and long-term stewardship. Today, the organization operates multiple manufacturing facilities and a diversified portfolio of businesses across the forest products sector, supported by a strong ownership group committed to sustainable, long-term growth.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer who enjoys partnering closely with ownership, influencing strategic direction, and leading finance within a complex, multi-entity organization.

Reporting directly to the ownership group, the Chief Financial Officer will serve as a trusted business advisor and strategic partner while maintaining oversight of all financial operations.

This role extends well beyond traditional accounting and financial reporting. The successful candidate will play an integral role in corporate strategy, capital planning, banking relationships, risk management, operational performance, and long-term business planning across multiple operating companies.

The CFO will also work closely with executive leadership and key advisors while supporting a sophisticated ownership structure that includes operating companies, real estate holdings, and other business interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of corporate finance, accounting, treasury, tax, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership on financial performance, capital allocation, and long-term business initiatives.
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to improve profitability, working capital, and operational performance.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing activities, lender compliance, and treasury management.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
  • Support acquisitions, capital investment decisions, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting, audit, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continue developing and strengthening financial systems, internal controls, and reporting processes.
  • Mentor and develop the finance organization while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Collaborate with legal, tax, and external advisors on corporate governance, risk management, and ownership-related initiatives.

Ideal Background

We are seeking a finance executive who combines strategic leadership with a hands-on approach.

Successful candidates will likely possess:

  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • Previous experience as a Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, or senior finance executive.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is essential; wood products, building materials, industrial manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries are highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting privately held or family-owned businesses.
  • Multi-site operational finance experience.
  • Strong background in banking relationships, treasury, capital planning, and financial strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with CEOs, owners, and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience leading organizational growth, process improvements, and financial transformation initiatives.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • MBA or advanced business degree considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting complex legal entity structures.
  • Exposure to acquisitions, capital projects, and strategic planning.

Why This Opportunity?

This position offers significantly more than a traditional CFO role.

The successful executive will have the opportunity to:

  • Become a trusted advisor to a respected fourth-generation ownership group.
  • Influence strategic decisions across a diverse portfolio of businesses.
  • Lead finance for a financially strong organization with a long-term ownership philosophy.
  • Join a company known for stability, integrity, and operational excellence.
  • Build a lasting legacy within one of the region's most respected privately owned manufacturing organizations.

Compensation

An attractive executive compensation package, including base salary, performance incentive, and comprehensive benefits, will be offered and is commensurate with experience.

Relocation assistance is available for the successful candidate.
