Job description

Position Summary
Responsible for running in club pickleball tournaments. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and supervision of the tournament. Ensure that the tournament achieves or exceeds its revenue goal. Work with tournament desk team members to initiate, develop, and maintain personalized relationships with members. Provide an excellent customer service experience to encourage repeat business.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Owns all preparation work required for tournament. Including but not limited to, submitting tournament application, setting up tournament on designated website, promoting and marketing, handling all tournament registrations, uploading and updating completed draws for each tournament by designated time, creating tournament desk schedule and assign team member hours, and coordinating court scheduling for tournament with Pickleball Lead.
  • Leads and supervises during tournament/event as appropriate. Ensures all pickleball courts and equipment are clean, organized and in good working condition. Partners with additional Life Time departments as needed. Quickly and efficiently responds to member questions, comments, and concerns to ensure tournament participants will continue their involvement in our programs.
  • Responsible for achieving or exceeding pickleball tournament revenue and CM goals. Actively manage expenses of tournaments, including labor, officials (where applicable), ordering supplies, while reducing or eliminating non-essential expenses. Recap tournament financials post event.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude
  • Thorough knowledge of the game of tennis and possesses effective teaching styles and techniques
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills
  • Comfortable working with all age groups and building positive relationships with members and team members
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds

Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Years of Experience:
  • 1-2 years of pickleball experience

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
  • PPR, PCI, IPTPA or RPO certified
  • CPR and AED Certified within 30 days of hire

  • Source and coordinate medals, trophies, prizes, sponsor giveaways, raffles, and player gifts.
  • Proficiency with DUPR and familiarity with tournament bracket creation and tournament management software.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
  • PPR, IPTPA, or equivalent pickleball certification is a plus.
