We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Centered Treatment (FCT) Supervisor to join our team full-time. This role is essential to our mission, providing therapy, crisis support, and service coordination for mental health clients in a variety of settings. As a Family Centered Treatment (FCT) Supervisor with Carolina Outreach, you will provide clinical supervision for staff members who are providing FCT services for children, youth, adolescents, adults, and their families.

Location: Durham, NC

Compensation: $64, 980.93 - $71,906.39

*Final compensation is determined by factors such as education, licensure level, experience and other qualifications.

Primary Purpose of this Position


The person in this position will provide individual clinical supervision and case consultation to staff as well as crisis management response to and with staff and will act as a back-up to staff for their clients as needed. The person will also work with clients and families/natural supports to assess their strengths and needs, assisting families with planning, developing, implementing, and assessing treatment and ancillary services, recommending the types of treatment modalities needed and providing these services directly or by referral.

List of Responsibilities, Requirements, and Duties

  • Ensure that employees have the credentials, training, and supervision to be able to provide appropriate services and to grow professionally.
  • Provide individual clinical supervision and case consultation to staff bi-weekly and/or as needed.
  • Provide case consultation and crisis management response to/with staff and act as back-up to staff as needed.
  • Providing training to staff on documentation/note-writing, community support skills, professional development, and other issues as needed.
  • Work with directors and staff to plan and implement organizational development.
  • Assist management team with various committee, workgroup, community, legislative, and quality assurance/compliance issues as needed.
  • Create, develop, monitor, revise, and implement the client's Person-Centered Plan.
  • Provide clinical guidance and/or oversight in the development of crisis plans and transition plans when clients move in and out of services.
  • Provide individual, family, or group therapy to clients and their families/natural supports based on their needs, diagnoses, and best evidence-based practices.
  • Provide written documentation as required. This will include treatment notes, goals, and plans for the medical record (e.g., service notes, person-centered plan)
  • Be available to respond as needed to clients and co-workers 24/7/365.
  • Must be fully certified in FCT within twelve months of initial hire via the official FCT certification program.
  • Successfully complete the competency-based, standardized FCT Foundation re-certification every two years.
  • Complete 10 CE training hours per year.

Direct Services

  • Work to implement therapeutic interventions, crisis interventions, behavioral interventions, psycho-educational activities, and other best evidence-based practice therapies.
  • Work with clients, families, natural supports, and collateral agencies in reviewing, applying, and achieving goals as indicated in the Person-Centered Plan.
  • Provide clinical leadership to child and family teams.
  • Provide parent/guardian/natural support training that will aid persons interacting with the client to deal more effectively with the client.
  • Assist in all service delivery as formally planned with the clinical team.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

  • At a minimum, a Master's Degree in counseling, social work, or psychology and 2 years' experience in direct practice, working with clients with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
  • Must hold a current license, certificate, registration, or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession. Must be approved to clinically supervise relevant licensures by each licensure's board in the state of North Carolina (LCSW, LCMHC)
