Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical (Adult & Pediatrics)

Location: Machias, ME

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Night Shift

Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient-centered care for both adult and pediatric populations in a Medical/Surgical setting. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, clinically confident, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment with minimal orientation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric Medical/Surgical patients

  • Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using Cerner EMR

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions

  • Respond effectively during emergency situations and critical patient events

  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional nursing standards

Required QualificationsEducation
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN)

Licensure & Certifications
  • Active Maine RN License or Compact RN License

  • BLS Certification

  • ACLS Certification

  • PALS Certification

Experience
  • Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred

  • Adult and Pediatric patient care experience preferred

  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
