Job description

A physician-led, nonprofit health system in southwest Michigan is seeking a BE/BC Gastroenterologist and GI Hospitalist to join its established and growing Gastroenterology program. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to join a collaborative team with flexibility to pursue an outpatient Gastroenterology practice, GI Hospitalist role, or a combination of both based on the needs of the practice.
Practice Highlights
* Join an established Gastroenterology practice alongside three experienced Gastroenterologists and a dedicated team of Advanced Practice Providers
* Flexible practice model with opportunities in General Gastroenterology, GI Hospitalist Medicine, or a combination of outpatient and inpatient practice
* Advanced Endoscopy skills, including ERCP and EUS, are preferred but not required
* Additional clinical interests including Motility/Neurogastroenterology, Hepatology, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease are welcomed
* Procedures performed at multiple hospital campuses as well as an ambulatory surgery center
* Strong APP support
* Teaching opportunities available through an affiliated medical school, including adjunct faculty appointments and medical student rotations
* Both conscious sedation and general anesthesia available depending on procedure type and location
* Modern Cerner Oracle EMR utilized across all inpatient and outpatient settings
Practice Structure
* Monday through Friday outpatient clinic schedule with dedicated procedure time
* Opportunity for a traditional outpatient Gastroenterology practice, dedicated GI Hospitalist position, or a combination of both
* GI Hospitalist schedule can support a traditional 7-on/7-off rotation or a similar schedule
* Outpatient physicians typically see approximately 12-14 patients per clinic day, depending on in-office procedures
* Inpatient and outpatient positions are recruited separately and can be tailored to physician interests and practice needs
