What is Central Freight Lines?

Central Freight Lines was a regional less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier based in Texas, providing transportation and logistics services throughout the central and western United States. The company specialized in moving smaller shipments for businesses that didn't require a full truckload, offering reliable and cost-effective solutions. Central Freight Lines operated for nearly a century before ceasing operations in December 2021 due to financial challenges. Former customers now often seek alternative LTL providers for their shipping needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freight truck driver?

To thrive as a Freight Truck Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), solid driving skills, and knowledge of transportation regulations. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and basic vehicle maintenance tools is typically required. Dependability, good time management, and strong communication help drivers handle schedules and customer interactions effectively. These abilities ensure timely, safe deliveries and compliance with industry standards.

What are some common challenges faced by drivers at Central Freight Lines, and how does the company support employees in overcoming them?
