Job Title: Lead IT Logistics Specialist

Role Summary:

The Lead IT Logistics Specialist plays a key role in supporting the growth of the IT Department. Based in the greater Tallahassee area, this position is responsible for managing IT equipment and device inventory, maintaining accurate asset tracking, coordinating IT projects, and overseeing device repair and maintenance. The role also includes supervising and training a team of IT Logistics Specialists and reporting to the IT Asset Lifecycle Manager. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the IT Asset Lifecycle Manager, the Lead IT Logistics Specialist oversees purchasing and provisioning support and works with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely, accurate delivery of IT equipment. Key responsibilities include developing logistics plans, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, keeping accurate records in logistics systems, managing vendor relationships, evaluating transportation providers, and identifying process improvements. This role also requires strong customer service and timely resolution of shipment issues.

The Lead IT Logistics Specialist will perform the following duties: 

        Warehouse Management

         Manage inventory for IT equipment and devices, including laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners, routers, switches, servers, and accessories, ensuring items are properly stored, labeled, and organized.

         Track assets using barcode scanners, RFID tags, and software tools, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records and reports.

         Coordinate projects involving the procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, maintenance, and disposal of IT equipment, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to requirements.

         Coordinate repairs for damaged, malfunctioning, or obsolete devices, ensuring they meet quality and security standards and follow established best practices.

         Prepare and image equipment to support ticket and project needs.

         Partner with vendors and internal teams to coordinate orders, deliveries, and installations.

     Manager Reporting

         Supervise and train IT Logistics Specialists, assign tasks and schedules, and monitor performance and progress.

         Report to the IT Asset Lifecycle Manager, provide improvement recommendations, and escalate issues as needed.

         Order IT equipment through SAP for projects, replacements, and tickets, and confirm items are received and delivered to the correct destination.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent work experience is a plus.

2+ years of demonstrated expertise in relation to Asset Management software

Previous experience in team management with strong leadership and team management skills, and able to motivate and mentor others, and provide constructive feedback and guidance.

Knowledgeable with relevant IT equipment and devices and how to troubleshoot them and their systems.

Flexible and adaptable, and willing to travel and work on-site as needed, and adjust to changing work environments and demands. 

SAP and/or Forklift experiences is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours, depending on department needs, working out of Tallahassee, Florida
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • 20-30% travel expected
