Job description

Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbentโ€™s performance objectives as outlined by the incumbentโ€™s immediate supervisor or manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises a team of Census Management Analysts.
  • Leads and trains new team members core improvement initiatives for census management workflow.ย 
  • Regularly monitors metrics to determine when profitability margins are thinning and reporting patient information in system. Identifies client trends and root-causing issues and putting action plan in place to resolve. ย 
  • Creates monthly metric reports and leads special census management projects.
  • Assists team to complete client census audits. Verifies discrepancies with clients and providers.
  • Creates PowerPoint presentations and other documentation used for internal and external corporate training and communication.
  • Resolves escalated census management issues.
  • Acts as a resource for cross-functional departments to address and resolve challenges

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility

  • This position has supervisory responsibilities to include hiring, training, coaching, mentoring and managing the performance of department team members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education, Licensure or Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Associateโ€™s or bachelorโ€™s degree in business, accounting, healthcare, or medical billing certificate is preferred

Work Experience or Related Experience:

  • At least 2 years proven experience in a senior or lead role is required
  • 5+ yearsโ€™ experience in which incumbents regularly interface with customers and/or vendors.ย 
  • Experience leading data audits and influencing key stakeholders to meet deadlines.
  • Six Sigma experience or certification preferred.
  • Experience in the healthcare or medical fields in which incumbents have gained an understanding of durable medical equipment is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are requiredย 
  • Excellent analytical skills to review data, identify trends, correlate information and provide a summary of findings.
  • Ability to work with independently and displays good prioritization skills
  • A high attention to detailed information is required to review and reconcile data
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow standard operating procedures with regard to patient data to ensure compliance with HIPPA is required
  • Strong knowledge business and communications software (MS Office) and web-based tools are required
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills to run, analyze and present data as described
