JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dynamic, creative, experienced, and highly motivated Booker to join the OutKick family. This role is built for someone with deep sports booking relationships, a strong command of the daily news and political landscape, and a sharp instinct for where sports intersects with celebrity, politics, pop culture, and the broader cultural conversation. The ideal candidate will have an active sports-first rolodex and the ability to secure compelling guests across athletes, former athletes, coaches, agents, insiders, media personalities, entertainers, political voices, cultural commentators, and digital creators.
The Booker will be someone who can react quickly to breaking news in the sports, sports culture, pop culture, news, and political worlds. The ideal candidate will bring a strong and active contact base across athletes, former athletes, coaches, agents, sports media personalities, league and team insiders, commentators, publicists, and newsmakers. Just as important, this person should understand how sports stories often cross over into celebrity, cultural debate, politics, business, and social media conversation.
The candidate must be attentive in searching for guests and creating, cultivating, and maintaining meaningful relationships. We are especially interested in someone who already has a strong sports-first rolodex and the ability to expand those conversations into entertainment, politics, cultural commentary, and digital media. The Booker must also be well-read in major newspapers, podcasts, streaming shows, political commentary, sports media, and, most importantly, all social platforms.
The Booker is responsible for offering creative segment ideas and original angles on well-covered topics daily. This person should know how to identify the right guest for the right moment, whether that means securing a major sports figure, a credible insider, a media personality, a celebrity voice, or a political or cultural commentator who can speak to where the story is headed.
**You MUST include a cover letter to express why you are interested in this particular role.**
OutKick aims for both compelling and qualified newsmakers to discuss the top stories of the day. You should have sound editorial skills and in-depth knowledge of the news, sports news, sports culture, pop culture, politics, and where all the above intersect. We need a driven applicant who strives to identify top-tier guests and goes the extra mile to book them.
The ideal candidate understands that OutKick's coverage lives at the center of sports, culture, politics, and current events. We are looking for someone who can bring in guests who not only know the game, the league, or the headline, but who can also speak to the larger cultural, political, or entertainment conversation surrounding it.
You must also be able to work swiftly under deadline pressure, especially during breaking news coverage. The right Booker will be proactive, resourceful, persistent, and comfortable moving quickly to secure high-impact guests in a fast-paced daily show environment.
As a Booker at OutKick.com, you will have the opportunity to work on all our streaming shows. You will work with a production team tasked with producing compelling daily shows that resonate with our viewers and drive conversation across sports, culture, politics, and news.
