Summary:


The Annual Giving Associate collaborates with the VP of Advancement in planning, executing, and evaluating the Foundation’s annual giving programs. The Annual Giving Associate leads the donor acquisition, renewal, digital fundraising, direct mail campaigns, employee giving, and stewardship communications. The Annual Giving Associate enhances donor engagement and supports the long-term growth of the organization’s annual revenue streams.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Implement and manage all components of the annual giving program, including direct mail, digital campaigns, Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, and donor acquisition efforts.
  • Maintain a year-round fundraising calendar with integrated communications, donor touchpoints, and cultivation plans.
  • Work directly with the Director of Mission Advancement to strengthen the Foundation’s annual revenue base and ensure sustainable long-term growth
  • Support strategy for increasing donor retention, reactivating lapsed donors, and expanding the donor pipeline.
  • Analyze donor behavior and campaign performance to optimize results.
  • Manage donor acknowledgment processes, personalized stewardship outreach, and impact communications.
  • Support cultivation of mid-level donors and develop pathways toward major giving.
  • Manage online giving platforms, social fundraising tools, and workplace campaigns.
  • Develop peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives in partnership with Board and volunteer leadership.
  • Coordinate donor data entry, reporting, and tracking with Advancement Services staff.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of donor interactions, pledges, and communications.
  • Partner with Marketing to align messaging for appeals and donor communications.
  • Support event revenue generation through targeted donor participation strategies.
  • Learn about every entity under the CDS Life Transitions umbrella to effectively raise funds for each entity individually and collectively.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to support presentations and participate in meetings with internal teams, donors, and diverse stakeholder groups as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with CDS Life Transitions constituents, including staff, individuals served, families, vendors, and donors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Effective time‑management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and an understanding of their use in communication, outreach, and engagement.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit administration, marketing, customer relations, or a related professional setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with donor databases, CRM systems, or fundraising software (e.g., DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, or similar) preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

All experience and education requirements, except when required by federal, state, or local laws or requirements, may be waived at the discretion of management with the approval of the Chief Executive Officer, in collaboration with Human Resources.
