Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is a Jesus Formed Community on Mission.

We do this by living out the listening, serving, and helping posture of Jesus in our church community.
The ministry began with the church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry whose influence has reached to the ends of the earth. We have now re-focused as a local Church-centered organization with a goal of forming, resourcing and educating followers of Jesus.
Calvary Chapel Schools (CCS) was established to meet the educational, social, and spiritual needs of the children of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. CCS is a ministry of CCCM, building up Christian leaders in mind, body, and soul through Biblical truth, character development, and strong academic pursuits, enabling students to serve and enjoy Christ and their community.

Position Purpose and Summary
Calvary Chapel School is looking for someone to help as a part time teacher with our LEAP program. They will work with the lead the LEAP teacher in the establishment of guidelines and standards. The ideal candidate will be a minister of the Gospel in this position and will have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. Their relationship with Christ will be an example to the staff, students, and parents.

  • Be an example to those with whom you come in contact and with whom you serve by exuding the love of Christ. Understanding that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal
  • Implement individualized Game Plans with specific strategies to address the needs of targeted students; support students' development of academic and social skills, practices and attitudes necessary to be successful and plan for differentiated student needs and academic levels.
  • Collaborate effectively with school-based personnel in adapting curriculum offerings to meet individual educational needs that guide and challenge students.
  • Implement lessons in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and Bible utilizing current curriculum, adopted resources, and/or appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Provide individual and small group instruction, adapting curriculum to meet the needs of all students; and instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills and study skills.
  • Partner to develop weekly lesson plans to best utilize the available time for instructional sessions.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior, utilizing a variety of behavior management strategies and techniques.
  • Parent communication and collaboration with strategies towards goals.

Requirements:
  • Teaching Credential, K-8 Multiple Subject
  • At least 5 years teaching experience in an Elementary Classroom

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; bend; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required include soft and loud sounds.
