Job description

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
Under the guidance of the VP of HR, the Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic leader in advancing EWTN's mission by fostering a workplace culture rooted in Catholic values and operational excellence. This role strengthens organizational effectiveness by overseeing key HR functions, guiding managers on people strategies, and ensuring that human resources practices support employee engagement, compliance, and a respectful, mission-driven environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will lead and oversee core HR functions including benefits administration, compensation strategy, HR systems, and regulatory compliance. This role manages relationships with external vendors and brokers, ensures the successful administration and auditing of retirement plans, and leads salary review and market analysis processes. You will maintain HR policies in alignment with legal requirements while ensuring consistent application across the organization.
You will manage the HCM platform to ensure data accuracy and efficient workflows, while generating and analyzing reports on key metrics such as turnover, headcount, and compensation to inform strategic decision-making. In addition, you will drive process improvement initiatives to enhance HR operations and employee experience, including overseeing onboarding and orientation programs to support effective cultural integration.
As a leader, you will supervise and mentor HR staff, and partner closely with the VP of HR on staffing strategies, employee relations, and performance management, and champion initiatives that promote engagement and reinforce a positive, mission-centered workplace culture.
ABOUT YOU:
You bring at least seven years of progressive human resources experience, including a minimum of three years in a leadership role, with demonstrated expertise across benefits, compensation, HR systems, and employment law. You are skilled in vendor management, retirement plan oversight, and using data to support strategic decisions, and you communicate effectively while handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
You are proficient in HR technology, with experience in systems such as Paylocity, and are comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, and HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR is strongly preferred. Experience in a nonprofit environment is a plus. As a practicing Catholic, you are committed to integrating faith-based values into your leadership approach and supporting EWTN's mission.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE:
  • We offer a career with purpose! Apply your God-given talents, knowing your contributions help to advance EWTN's mission of sharing the Gospel with the world.
  • Caring environment. We value the importance of family/life balance and welcome you as an EWTN family member, not just an employee.
  • Freedom to participate in Mass, visit the chapel for prayer or attend an annual retreat.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability insurance and Retirement Savings Plan.
  • 11 Paid Holidays and generous Paid Time Off program.
  • Tuition reimbursement for online continuing education and degree programs through our partnership with Catholic International University.
  • Ability to learn alongside legacy employees while bringing new ideas to the growing team!
