Job description

Senior Catering & Event Sales Manager Chateau Del Mar – Hickory Hills, IL

Chateau Del Mar is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly organized hospitality professional to join our leadership team as a Senior Catering & Event Sales Manager.

For decades, Chateau Del Mar has been one of the premier banquet and event venues in the Chicagoland market, hosting weddings, social events, galas, and large-scale celebrations ranging from intimate gatherings to events exceeding 1,000 guests.

We are seeking a confident hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment and understands the balance between sales, client experience, operational organization, and event execution.

This is not an entry-level sales position. This is a hands-on hospitality leadership role within an established, high-volume event venue with strong operational systems already in place.

Candidates must have direct catering sales, event sales, convention services, or venue sales experience.

This position is focused on event sales leadership and client management, not restaurant or banquet floor operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct venue tours and client consultations

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the planning process

  • Manage complex event details, timelines, logistics, and vendor coordination

  • Coordinate with banquet managers, operations, kitchen staff, and outside vendors

  • Lead client communication with professionalism, confidence, and organization

  • Assist in contract preparation, event planning documentation, and final event execution

  • Help drive sales growth, upselling opportunities, and repeat business

  • Work within established pricing structures and management guidelines while confidently negotiating and assisting clients with package selections, upgrades, and event solutions

  • Maintain organization and accuracy in a high-volume environment

  • Support and collaborate with an experienced banquet office team

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years hospitality, catering, convention services, conference services, banquet, hotel catering, country club event sales, or event management experience preferred

  • Experience managing large-scale weddings, social events, galas, or high-volume events strongly preferred

  • Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving ability

  • Professional, polished, organized, and detail-oriented

  • Strong communication and client relationship skills

  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously while maintaining operational control and professionalism

  • Strong hospitality mindset with the ability to confidently guide clients through complex event planning processes

Candidates with hotel catering, convention services, conference services, country club event sales, or large-scale event management backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary

  • Commission and performance bonus opportunities

  • Long-term growth opportunity within an established hospitality operation

Compensation Range: Annually based on experience, leadership ability, and performance.

Benefits:

  • Paid vacation

  • Flexible scheduling as event calendar allows

  • Supportive ownership and management structure

  • Established operational procedures and event systems already in place

  • Opportunity to help shape the future growth of an established event venue

Qualified candidates should submit a resume along with a brief summary of their hospitality sales management experience.
