POSITION SUMMARY

The primary role of an Event Bartender is to work directly with the Staffing Manager and the Event Managers on-site to ensure that B&Bโ€™s standards and procedures are met from start to finish, being the hospitality presence on-site, and ensuring well-executed events. As a representative of the company, the service team establishes a warm and welcoming environment for all guests and provides the guests with the most memorable experience at their event.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities:


Event Responsibilities โ€“ 75% of job duties

  • Arrive to event site on time to assigned location and set-up event in accordance to event worksheet notes and B&B's standards.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate to fellow servers and bartenders on B&B's standard steps of procedure.
  • Review event worksheet to ensure all details of the event are understood prior to arriving to the event site.
  • Review the menu thoroughly and ask any questions or concerns to Event Manager before service begins.
  • Work with Event Manager on assigned tasks to ensure a smooth and successful event flow.
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner. Be proactive and anticipate the guest's needs.
  • Be well-spoken, professional, and communicate clearly about the food and beverages being served.
  • Serve and tend bar in a safe and timely manner. Keep all event areas clean throughout service.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members regardless of duty or difficulty.
  • Fill in for fellow bartenders when they are off duty on assigned break.
  • Immediately take their break once the Event Manager assigns it. Delegate any unfinished tasks to the Event Manager right away.
  • Break down the event space and ensure the space is left in original condition. Clean and sanitize all workspaces. Ensure that all event recyclables and landfill trash is removed from the event site and brought to the Catering Van at the end of the shift.
  • Keep availability in the Nowsta calendar up to date. Upon being scheduled by the Staffing Manager, the employee is responsible for responding to the shift request on the mobile app within 24 hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Event Manage.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of B&Bโ€™s policies and procedures as it is outlined in the Employee Handbook. Reference to it as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective team relationships with fellow staff; apply effective communication and listening skills.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with all stakeholders, including staff members, clients, vendors, and members of the public.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and compliance practices (including Food Safety and Sanitation, TIPS, and business ethics codes).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and customers using principles of good customer service.
  • Punctual for all scheduled shifts. Must have reliable transportation.
  • Possess a strong understanding of B&Bโ€™s standards in order to demonstrate to other staff members by example.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and think quickly on your feet.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience in the hospitality/service industry, preferably in catering or events.
  • Must be 21 years or older.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a server; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 yearsโ€™ experience in customer service or hospitality role.
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certified OR ability to become ServSafe Food Handler Certified.
  • RBS/TIPS Alcohol Certified OR ability to become RBS/TIPS Alcohol Certified.

  • Possess multi-limb and eye-hand coordination.
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift/move up to 40 pounds.
  • Utilize specific vision abilities for viewing work related processes and materials handling.
  • Occasionally must be able to distinguish flavor profile to ensure food and beverage quality meets B&B standards.
  • Talk or hear during face-to-face communications in a noisy, dim, or bright/flashy lights work area.
