Catering Event Manager

The Greystone Inn, a charming getaway nestled in the heart of Lake Toxaway, NC, is actively searching for a detailed, customer-focused and results-driven Catering Event Manager to join our F&B team.

The Greystone Inn, managed by Hay Creek Hotels, is a historic lakeside resort located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Known for its exceptional hospitality, natural beauty, and personalized guest service, the inn offers a unique work environment where you will gain valuable hospitality experience while enjoying the outdoors and the charm of a small mountain community.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for executing the event and coordinating logistics      
  • Partner closely with Operations and Culinary teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Act as guest point of contact on date of event, ensuring guest satisfaction and approachability with any service need.
  • Delegate event duties as they pertain to BEO schedule. Ensure all duties are complete by using event checklists.
  • Management of special product needs based on BEO, receiving, product storage and organization of banquet storage areas.
  • Timely responds to guest feedback and communicates feedback with other department managers as necessary. Attend operational meetings weekly.  
  • Works closely with Catering Sales Manager on all S&M efforts, including promotions, sales kits, marketing efforts, developing annual market plan, and adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Work with F&B Director on all banquet and event projects, operational goals, labor efficiencies, and ensure all banquet staff are onboarded, trained, coached, disciplined, motivated, developed, and rewarded consistently.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+years of hands-on event catering and detailing experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to train, motivate, and supervise
  • Strong leadership and effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills needed
  • Must be extremely self-motivated and highly efficient
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on client needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays regularly
