Job description

As a Manager - Category Management (Operations), you will be responsible for category strategy planning and supplier initiatives by collaborating with Category Management and Supplier Relations to identify new opportunities. You will contribute to product assortment optimization efforts and facilitate the onboarding of new suppliers and products. You will assist in managing supplier reporting and preferred supplier initiatives, providing increased value for both the company and the supplier. You will work cross-functionally to identify optimization opportunities to improve profitability of all stakeholders. You will support the development of new tools, reporting and processes to help drive efficiencies for Category Management and Supplier Relations, while contributing to broader Supply Chain initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the annual category business planning and strategy execution for the category and suppliers
  • Contributes to supplier contracting initiatives for operational and financial terms improvement
  • Supports development of an optimized Product Assortment & Merchandizing strategy
  • Responsible for supplier contracting to improve operational and financial terms
  • Support marketing plan development and execution
  • Effectively communicates key category and supplier messaging both internally and externally
  • Assist in managing and communicating new product and supplier introductions
  • Develops reports and tools to enable supplier performance management and issue resolution
  • Helps with the development of new processes, reporting and tools for Category Management and Supplier Relations.
  • Manages and supports ad-hoc requests from Supply Chain

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree - Business, Sales, Marketing or relevant field required; Masters Degree preferred 
  • 5 years experience in supplier management, sales, marketing, product management 
  • 5 years of success maintaining and developing key relationships
  • 2 years People management and/or product category management experience
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and detail-oriented
  • Previous experience in electrical distribution market 
  • Proven ability to influence cross functional teams 
  • Analytical and detail oriented 
  • Excellent business and financial acumen

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
