Job description

Positions are open on Days (650a-7p) and Nights (650p-7a).

Overview

The Cast House Associate is responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing casting materials and equipment. Employees in this department work 12-hour shifts (6:50a-7p, 6:50p-7a). Work shift consists of a two-week schedule rotation, week one three twelve-hour shifts and week two four twelve-hour shifts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews and follows all Standard Operating procedures for processes;
  • Charges furnace safely and controls the furnace level per standard operating procedures;
  • Ensures that all quality objectives are followed and met;
  • Safely operates casting equipment daily;
  • Reports and reviews any unusual condition with supervisor, quality or manager;
  • Maintains department 5S;
  • Actively works to correct any unsafe conditions;
  • Reports on production results and department measurable during daily meetings;
  • Actively works to correct any unsafe conditions;
  • Completes Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned;
  • Participates in problem-solving activities within teams for improvements;
  • Uses lean tools to drive safety, quality and productivity improvement;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrate ability to read measuring devices (tape measure),
  • Minimum 1-2 years manufacturing experience;
  • Prior casting experience preferred;
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, hot and cold;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs;
  • Ability to work 12 hours shift, EOWEO schedule.
