Job description

Job Title: Cash Receipts & Treasury Clerk Location: West Long Branch, New Jersey Type: Contract Compensation: $25.00 - $26.00 /hr. Work Model: Onsite Hours: Part-Time

Cash Receipts & Treasury Clerk Job Responsibilities:

  • Process payments received online, in person, by phone, mail, and wire transfer.
  • Enter payments into the cash receipt system and prepare bank deposits.
  • Reconcile daily cash, checks, credit cards, and bank transactions.
  • Process departmental deposits and electronic cash receipt files.
  • Research and process non-student refunds, including checks, ACH, and credit card refunds.
  • Manage and reconcile university petty cash accounts and process reimbursements.
  • Help departments resolve payment, deposit, and petty cash issues.
  • Prepare petty cash expense reports and complete bank visits and annual cash counts.
  • Reconcile online payments, including credit card and ACH transactions.
  • Assist with testing and maintaining online payment sites and products.
  • Research and post unidentified payments and special deposits.
  • Provide backup support for daily cash closing, bank deposits, wire transfers, and cash flow records.
  • Prepare and deliver deposits, complete in-person banking, and maintain accurate daily records.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Cash Receipts & Treasury Clerk Job Requirements:

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word 2016
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2016
  • Four (4) years of related experience
  • Cash handling experience including processing of check and credit card payments
  • Customer service experience
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (Preferred)
  • Accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or eCommerce experience (Preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail (Preferred)
  • Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize during peak periods (Preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel 2016 with superior data analysis skills (Preferred)
  • A strong desire to learn new technology and gain technical/product knowledge (Preferred)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team (Preferred)
