Job description

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading procurement activities in a printing operation, overseeing a team of buyers, and ensuring the timely and compliant acquisition of raw materials, packaging, and outsourced services feeding Texas and Mexico operations. This role will use, SAP to execute purchasing while coordinating closely with sales forecasts outside the MRP system. The Purchasing Manager also ensures full compliance with (including, but not limited to) FSC, ISO, and FAMA requirements and supports audit readiness across the supply base.


What youโ€™ll do as a Purchasing Manager:

  • Lead endโ€‘toโ€‘end purchasing for paper, board, inks, substrates, packaging, and printโ€‘related services.
  • Execute purchasing activities using SAP MRP, translating external forecasts and production plans into purchase orders.
  • Balance cost, lead time, quality, and inventory levels to meet manufacturing schedules and service targets.
  • Manage purchase order accuracy, confirmations, expediting, and resolution of supply issues.
  • Find, grow, and develop talent in purchasing team.
  • Assign workloads, set priorities, and review purchase decisions to ensure alignment with production needs and budgets.
  • Establish standard work, purchasing procedures, and internal controls.
  • Partner with Planning, Operations, and Sales teams to align long lead-time purchasing activity with forecasts in a make-to-order environment.
  • Track and report key metrics such as open purchase orders, on time delivery, and supplier performance.



Weโ€™re looking for a Purchasing Manager with:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment. Printing environment, preferred.
  • Prior experience managing buyers and strong interpersonal skills engaging in other departments.
  • Handsโ€‘on experience using SAP and full Microsoft Suite.

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move through the entire facility to attend to various issues
  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead
  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems
  • This Purchasing Manager position is located on-site in our Dallas, TX facility
