Job description

The Material Handler will be responsible for all material movement into and around the Printing Department including raw paper, finished sheets, and other materials. The Schedule for the Material Handler 1st Shift - Monday to Friday (06:45 am - 2:45pm)

 What you’ll do as a Material Handler:

  • Follows a daily check-sheet and receive instructions from the Press Operators and Shipping supervision.
  • Transfers paper to the Press and transfers printed card sheets to the Bobst machine
  • Turn loads utilizing mechanical load turning equipment.
  • Stages roll paper at Web Press as dictated by production schedules or direction from Supervisors or Operators.
  • Ensures proper quantity and type of ink available and maintains inventory.
  • Delivers ink to and from press and storage
  • Performs daily maintenance and looks for damage or leaks on all applicable equipment.
  • Transfers inventory, incoming materials and supplies in the production system and keeps the necessary documentation logs.
  • Performs housekeeping duties such as trash collection, emptying drums, removing unused skids around the Press, Bobst and Calem machines.
  • Assist press crews with removal of waste from loads; bagging, sleeving and moving loads to staging area; 
  • Sort loads for defective sheet removal; assisting Inspectors and press crews with “pull” sheets when needed
  • Inspect sheets for appropriate quality levels

 We’re looking for a Material Handler with:

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of work experience 
  • Prior warehouse / logistics experience strongly preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong SAP skills and experience preferred
  • Team-oriented, has excellent attendance, and professional communication skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks. 
  • Detail oriented and the ability to identify printing and paper imperfections. 
  • Able to perform basic math functions

Physical requirements and working conditions: 

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Lift / push / pull up to 75lbs 
  • Sitting at workstation approximately 10% of work time, standing and walking approximately 90% 
  • Ability to twist, reach, bend, and reach above shoulders 
  • Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects
  • Full color vision required
  • At least 20/40 corrected vision
  • Ability to pull up to 1,500 lbs. with a non-powered hand truck   
  • This Material Handler position is located on-site in our Erlanger, Ky facility
