Job description

The MACHINE TECHNICIAN LEV 2 -will be responsible for plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment during non-daytime hours. This position focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of machines to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. The MACHINE TECHNICIAN LEV 2 will collaborate closely with production teams to quickly address mechanical issues and support continuous manufacturing processes. 

Safety awareness is critical to ensure compliance with workplace regulations and to maintain a hazard-free environment during all shifts. 

What you’ll do as a MACHINE TECHNICIAN LEV 2:

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot more complex machine problems
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools and techniques, and execute timely repairs.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions that impact manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational transparency and compliance.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and company policies to promote a safe and efficient work environment during 2nd and 3rd shifts.

We’re looking for a MACHINE TECHNICIAN LEV 2 with:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial machinery.
  • knowledge of electrical systems and CMMS
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and nights on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Previous experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Basic welding or fabrication skills.

Physical requirements and working conditions: 

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues
  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead
  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems
  • This MACHINE TECHNICIAN LEV 2 position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow, MA facility
