Restoration & Cleaning Technician Job Summary
The Restoration Technician performs cleaning and restoration services for residential and commercial customers while assisting with job documentation and identifying additional service opportunities.
Restoration & Cleaning Technician Qualifications and Experience
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma (or GED).
  • Mathematical Skills: Adequate math skills. Ability to apply learned techniques to determine appropriate equipment type and number of units.
  • Computer Skills: Demonstrates basic proficiency in the use of computers, email, and portable devices used to report and record daily activity.
  • 1 year of floor cleaning experience preferred, and/or some form of specialty cleaning (i.e. Stripping & Waxing Commercial Space Flooring, Air Duct Cleaning, Tile and Grout Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning, etc.)
  • Highly Desired Certificates from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC)
    • Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT)* preferred but not required
    • IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) * preferred but not required
    • Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) * preferred but not required
    • Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD) * preferred but not required
    • Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) * preferred but not required
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record preferred
Restoration & Cleaning Technician Responsibilities
  • Perform water extraction and structural drying using restoration equipment
  • Assist with mold remediation and containment
  • Perform carpet and floor cleaning services
  • Assist with fire and smoke damage cleanup
  • Document job conditions with photos, notes, and moisture readings
  • Assist with job estimates and documentation
  • Support preparation of estimates using Xactimate when applicable
  • Communicate service recommendations and identify additional service opportunities
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and job site cleanliness
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
  • Support team members on large or emergency jobs
  • Perform other job-related duties as required
Physical Requirements
Lift 40 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
Frequent standing, bending, and equipment use
Ability to work in environments affected by water, mold, fire, or limited utilities
