Job description

Title: – Carpenter
Department: Construction
Reports To: Field Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Carpenter is responsible for performing apartment unit turns which may vary by complex and unit type. This role involves a wide range of carpentry work that includes rough and finish carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, drywall hanging, windows and HVAC systems. The carpenter will also assist with construction projects and ensure all company properties are in good working order.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Maintenance:

  • Perform routine repair work and remodeling of existing units.

  • Replace and repair walls, flooring, cabinets, tubs, and other areas associated with a specific unit type.

  • Ensure construction materials and tools are delivered, secured and installed correctly.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all maintenance and construction activities adhere to applicable safety and building codes.

  • Participate in safety training and maintain a safe work environment.

Emergency Repairs:

  • Be available to respond to emergency repair requests, which may include after-hours or weekend work.

Record Keeping:

  • Document carpentry and repair work completed.

  • Maintain inventory of supplies and tools.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or job-related course work preferred.
2+ years of experience in building maintenance or construction.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
