Job description

Title: Commercial Project Carpenter / Foreman

Location: Walpole, MA

Reports To: General Superintendent

Status: Full-Time | Travel as needed throughout Greater Boston


Position Overview

Bald Hill Builders is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Project Carpenter / Foreman to support multiple commercial construction projects throughout Greater Boston and surrounding areas. This role will focus heavily on final punch-list execution, interior finish work, project closeout support, and small-scope carpentry tasks across active and completed job sites.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates professionally with field teams and clients, and can independently manage small crews and daily priorities while maintaining high-quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee finish carpentry and interior construction tasks on commercial projects
  • Manage and complete final punch-list items in coordination with Superintendents and Project Managers
  • Support project closeouts and turnover preparation
  • Coordinate small crews, subcontractors, and daily work activities as needed
  • Install and repair:
    • Doors and hardware
    • Trim and finish carpentry
    • Framing and blocking
    • Drywall and patchwork
    • Ceiling tiles and miscellaneous interior finishes
    • Painting
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and field directives
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Identify issues proactively and communicate solutions to field leadership
  • Travel between multiple project sites as needed


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience
  • Prior leadership or foreman experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of interior commercial construction and punch-list execution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in occupied spaces and professional environments
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between sites
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Hand tools and equipment to perform work as necessary


Preferred Experience:

  • Multi-family, healthcare, education, or commercial renovation projects
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors and field operations teams
  • Ability to mentor junior carpenters or labor staff
  • Familiarity with Procore or digital punch-list software is a plus
