Job Title: Foreman – Carpentry and Restoration
Job Description
This role oversees carpentry crews on reconstruction projects, with a strong focus on finish work, taping, and installing trim. The foreman manages multiple projects from start to finish, coordinates subcontractors, and self-performs key construction tasks such as rough and finish carpentry and drywall hanging and finishing. The position combines hands-on field work with on-site leadership, ensuring that projects meet quality, safety, schedule, and customer service expectations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead carpentry crews performing finishing, taping, and trim installation on reconstruction projects.
- Provide on-site management and coordination of multiple projects from start to completion.
- Assist the Project Manager and Estimator with construction methods, sequencing, and schedule development and maintenance.
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors to ensure all activities comply with contract documents and project specifications.
- Self-perform construction-related tasks including rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and hanging and finishing drywall.
- Read and interpret blueprints to guide carpentry, framing, drywall, and related construction activities.
- Document and communicate project changes, field conditions, and important details to the project team in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work meets established quality standards and adheres to safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for carpentry, drywall, framing, and finish work.
- Support and coordinate related trades such as plumbing, electrical, and painting as needed on restoration projects.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors and subcontractors to support project success.
- Interact directly with clients on-site and provide responsive, courteous, and high-quality customer service.
- Support restoration activities, including reconstruction of interiors, to restore structures to their pre-loss condition.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in carpentry or a closely related construction role.
- Proficiency in finish carpentry, including trim work, doors, and detailed interior finishes.
- Strong drywall skills, including hanging, taping, and finishing to a high standard.
- Experience with rough carpentry and framing in commercial or residential construction environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Hands-on experience in restoration, reconstruction, or similar construction work.
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical tasks as they relate to reconstruction projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry, drywall, and finish work.
- Ability to manage and coordinate crews and subcontractors on active job sites.
- Strong focus on quality, safety, and site cleanliness.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Capability to start work early in the morning and maintain a consistent full-time schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in restoration work is a strong plus.
- Additional carpentry experience beyond the minimum requirement is highly valued.
- Experience in painting and finish work on interior reconstruction projects.
- Background in both commercial and residential construction environments.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in the field.
- Strong organizational skills for documenting project changes and details.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors.

Work Environment
This role is based with a restoration-focused firm, working primarily on reconstruction projects where interiors are taped, finished, and restored. You will start each workday around 5:00 or 6:00 a.m., with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Work is field-based, at active job sites, and involves regular use of hand tools and power tools for carpentry, drywall, framing, plumbing-related tasks, electrical-related tasks, painting, and finish carpentry. The company provides a work truck and transportation to and from job sites, so you report to a central point before heading out with the crew. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and safety-conscious, with a strong emphasis on quality workmanship and maintaining clean, organized job sites.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
