The 3/4/5 rule in carpentry is a method used to check the squareness of corners and frames by measuring 3 feet along one side, 4 feet along the adjacent side, and ensuring the diagonal between these points measures exactly 5 feet. This principle is based on the Pythagorean theorem and helps carpenters ensure accurate right angles in framing and construction. Mastering this rule improves precision in building projects and ensures structural integrity.
