The Opportunity:

The Operator Field Technician is a temporary assignment position to support and provide operation skills on water and wastewater treatment projects.

Candidate must have flexible schedule and available on short notice to travel to site. Good communications skills are essential as this position is remote. While on-site, provide ongoing client support to ensure customer satisfaction.

A strong understanding of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SWRO treatment systems is essential along with experience in sewage treatment plants preferably MBR. The ideal candidate will work hands-on with rotating equipment, control system and chemical handling.

This is a short-term contract field position with work performed on site, mostly in the Caribbean.

Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the setup, installation, and commissioning of water treatment systems at client sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on water treatment equipment and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor system performance, collect samples, and record operational data.
  • Complete client reporting and documentation related to site activities, system performance, and maintenance records.
  • Support and follow implementation of safe work practices, including adherence to OSHA standards and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow and assist in improving existing safe work procedures while contributing to the improvement of field documentation and reporting structure.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a hands-on approach, with a willingness to work across fabrication, installation, commissioning, and ongoing operations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding system performance and service updates.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and equipment checklists.
  • Travel to various project sites as required

Qualifications, Education, and Skills:


  • Technical diploma or certification in Environmental Science, Water Treatment, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a field technician or operations role, preferably in water or environmental services.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, filtration systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Water Treatment Operator Certification
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools is an asset.
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technical software.
  • A valid driver's licence, passport, and access to a vehicle.
