Your Specific Responsibilities:

The Human Services Analyst will provide clerical assistance to the unsheltered homeless where they reside as part of a street medicine initiative and the Mobile Medical Unit of the Health Care for the Homeless Program. The incumbent will be responsible for engaging potential clients, helping with eligibility applications, organizing clients on a first-come first-serve basis, entering data in databases and excel spreadsheets, scheduling appointments and driving the mobile unit. The work is field-based and will go out into the community to engage with the homeless population.

OPS Human Services Analyst:

• Serves as the second driver and clerk of both the Street Medicine vehicle and Mobile Medical Unit vehicle, ensuring timely arrival at scheduled locations daily. Responsible for daily set up and break down, fueling, and ensuring cleaning of the vehicles. Responsible for emptying the waste tank of the MMU. Notifies supervisor of any needed repairs and/or maintenance of the MMU. Notifies supervisor of needed supplies for the MMU. Communicates regarding schedule changes of the MMU. Communicates regarding any incidents on or involving the MMU. Maintains a strong working relationship with MMU service sites, keeps sites and staff informed of the MMU availability, and ensures signs are posted at sites to maximize walk in opportunities.
• Uses multiple computer applications to perform duties and keeps technical skills currents which includes athenaOne, NextGen, Carescope, maxRTE, Eaglesoft, and HMS.
• Assists clients with eligibility and preparation of forms.
• Interviews and determines financial eligibility for services based on established criteria for new and established clients.  
• Confirms and updates client demographics
• Registers and checks in clients
• Photocopies, copies, and/or scans records and other documents
• Verifies all data entered against source documents
• Monitors daily clinic schedule and communicates with clinic staff
• Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with Florida statutes
• Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills via in-person and/or telephone encounters
• Answers all telephone calls courteously and promptly with accurate information  
• Completes daily engagement of unsheltered patients in the community and clinic setting.
• Assists patients with obtaining community supports and resources as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned including emergency duty

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.
• Ability to type and/or in a keyboard control data input device, adding machine and utilize other office equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Skill in working effectively with the public.
• Knowledge of computer systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have dependable transportation.

Qualifications:

Minimum

• Experience working in a medical clinic environment, including knowledge of medical terminology
• Current valid Florida Driver’s License with daily access to private transportation 
• Three or more years of customer service experience
• Three or more years of data entry experience

Preferred

• Three or more years of experience determining financial eligibility for services
• Experience working with the homeless population
• Experience providing services in an outreach setting
• Experience driving and maintaining a business vehicle
• Current avtive and valid CDL Class B License
