Job description

BJC Medical Group Cardiology at Anderson Hospital ASAP Start Long-Term Need

BJC Medical Group Cardiology at Maryville - Anderson Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Interventional Cardiologist to provide hospital-based coverage. This is a 3-month contract with ongoing dates and the option to extend, with anticipated support required through the end of 2026.

Position Overview
  • Start Date: As soon as credentialed

  • Contract Length: 3 months, ongoing

  • Practice Setting: Hospital-based Interventional Cardiology

  • Schedule:

    • Monday Friday: 8:00am 4:30pm

    • Call: 1 night per week + 1 weekend per month (negotiable)

    • Cannot consider call-only providers for this need

Coverage Expectations
  • Preferred: Full-time coverage (40 hours/week)

  • Will Consider: PRN providers

  • Coverage Need: Ongoing, with long-term support anticipated through 2026

Clinical Details
  • Patient Volume:

    • Weekdays: 15 patients/day

    • Weekends: Up to 25 patients/day

  • Patient Population: All ages

  • Scope of Practice Includes:

    • Hospital rounding

    • Temporary pacemakers

    • Cardiac catheterizations

    • Coronary interventions

    • STEMI coverage

    • EKGs and Echocardiograms

  • EMR: Epic

  • Preferred Skills:

    • TEE not required, but a plus

Travel & Logistics
  • Travel and lodging fully covered by the client

Requirements
  • Board Certification: BC or BE in Interventional Cardiology

  • Licensure: Active Illinois license required; IMLC candidates considered

  • DEA: Required

  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year post-training (no new graduates)

  • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days
