Systems Engineer
Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand our team. Capstone Research Corporation is headquartered in Huntsville Alabama. We are a customer-oriented engineering services company providing world class research and development support across the Department of Defense (DoD): Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Compensation for this position will be determined, but not limited to, factors such as responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, alignment with market data, and internal equity.
We have an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer experience in Huntsville, AL. Salary based on relevant experience and education.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support customer requirements management and integration within a complex system-of-systems architecture
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze system architecture models using SysML or similar languages to ensure end-to-end traceability across the system lifecycle
  • Manage requirements and system models within a digital engineering ecosystem (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, Teamwork Cloud)
  • Develop and integrate system models aligned with government architecture frameworks and data standards to enable interoperability
  • Review, develop, and maintain system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation using a model-centric approach
  • Provide technical input to system models and architecture artifacts under development
  • Participate in program reviews, technical interchange meetings, and briefings with Government stakeholders
  • Assist PM to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, schedule, and cost-related challenges, escalating critical issues to senior leadership as needed
  • Experience writing status reports, performance metrics, white papers, concept of operations, requirement documents, risk assessments, and briefs to senior leaders

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
  • 2 to 6 years of experience supporting DoD systems
  • Experience managing requirements within system-of-systems or highly integrated environments
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles relevant to DoD programs (e.g., systems engineering, software development, or hardware integration).
  • Familiarity with DoD systems, platforms, or technologies
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or Primavera).
  • Work well with a team construct with a desire for more leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and process discipline.
  • U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required
