Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The following job description details the scope of responsibility and specific areas of responsibility regarding the Houseman. The Banquet amp; Catering Manager has the authority to add to, take from or otherwise change the scope of responsibilities as necessary to properly manage the day-to-day operation of the Big Canoe Property Owners Association (POA). The Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all event venues, hallways, storage areas, and service areas inside and outside of the Clubhouse. This position will be responsible for helping with set up and breakdown of event spaces.
Must be 19 years old.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works closely with the Banquet and Catering Manager with the setup and break down of events which will be the primary responsibility, according to the banquet event order.
  • Routinely inventory and care for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware flatware and decorations.
  • Assist the Food amp; Beverage staff where needed during daily service.
  • Transport necessary equipment between Big Canoe venues when needed.
  • Tend to minor maintenance issue and reporting more significant maintenance issues to management.
  • On a daily basis, will tend to the general cleanliness and organization of the entire Clubhouse, including parking lots, grounds, service and storage areas as well as dining and banquet rooms.
  • Routine trash removal, interior and exterior cleaning and deep cleaning will be part of the regular assigned tasks.
  • May be asked by management to engage in duties that are related to the position even though they are not routine.
  • Help assemble necessary equipment and structures needed for events and functions.
  • Help the Food amp; Beverage operation with the transport of food, beverage, decorations, and equipment to other venues inside and outside Big Canoe.
  • Responsible for pressure washing, cleaning reachable windows, buff and vacuum floors.
  • Housekeeping tasks to maintain cleaning standards including clean up spills, checking the cleanliness of bathroom and touch- up of bathrooms when needed.
  • Assist the Banuet amp; Catering Department where needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR record must be verifiable and required.
  • Required is the ability to multitask, reasoning, problem solving, and paying close attention to details is required.
  • Strong people skills required.
  • The ability to work independently on tasks assigned is required.
  • Must possess basic language skills, including the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively recommended.
  • The ability to provide exemplary member and customer service required.
  • Functional and technical skills recommended.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to work long hours during each shift.
  • Must be able to lift, pull and push over 50 pounds as needed.
  • Continues standing, walking, repetitive actions
  • Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam, heat and work in a confined area.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pulling, and lifting.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background/MVR check.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
