Job description

Candle Maker Associate

Location: 202 S Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo, MI

Position Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Starting Pay: $17/hour


The Candle Maker Associate is responsible for assisting in the hands-on creation of our candles, and other products, from pouring and labeling to quality checks in view of our customers. The CMA helps keep production running smoothly by meeting daily production goals.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Make, label, and shelve candles according to daily production needs
  • Inspect products for quality and consistency; ensure all meet KCC standards
  • Actively engage with customers to educate about our candles while making products
  • When needed, assist retail staff in providing excellent customer service
  • Help to ensure a worthwhile experience for all guests entering the store
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
  • Participate in ongoing training and to ensure job performance follows standards
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules and regulations
  • Restock and prepare materials for production
  • Actively communicate with all members of the KCC team
  • Other related duties as assigned

  • Very high attention to detail is required
  • Honesty, transparency, and candor are expectations of all that work at KCC
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs (
  • Reliable attendance and transportation are required
  • At all times, represent KCC in positive way through communication & action
  • Maintain positive relationships with all that work at KCC
  • Comply with all KCC policies, handbooks, and guidelines

This part-time position is $17/hour.
