Job description

Position: Construction Estimator (Technology Services)
Reports to: VP of Technology Services  
Location: Columbus, Ohio 
Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000

We take into consideration a number of factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.

Superior is seeking an Estimator to join our Technology Services team.  This role is responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications and conducting takeoffs on certain low voltage items and systems. The ideal candidate must have the willingness to learn new technology and estimating software, have strong technical and communication skills, and work well in a team environment. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform quantity takeoffs of Division 27 and  28, including structured cabling, security and access control, CCTV, fire alarm devices, building controls and several other low voltage systems 
  • Interpret contract drawings and project specifications
  • Support vendor management and assist with estimate quality review
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align project scope across assigned opportunities 
  • Conduct jobsite visits to support field investigations, drawing verification, and understanding field installation requirements 
  • Coordinate with the Project Management team on change order pricing and scope review

  • You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information 

Your Expertise 

  • Required: You have at least 1 year of experience in the construction industry 
  • Bonus Points: You have earned an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field 
  • Bonus Points: You have experience in technology construction or low voltage systems
  • Bonus Points: You have experience using Accubid and/or Bluebeam
