Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. We are highly focused and, among other efforts, currently operate a dozen active test and/or training ranges for the Army, Air Force and Navy. Our 35-year heritage is founded on supporting complex and diverse DoD programs and we've developed a standout reputation for providing the highest quality services, superior workmanship and cost-effective results while achieving complete customer satisfaction.


SA-TECH supports munitions delivery training for Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps air and ground crews through USAF Air Combat Command's Primary Training Ranges (PTRs). We deliver OM&S services to PTR bombing and gunnery (B&G) ranges and electronic warfare (EW) ranges, supporting remote threat emitters, mission data processing, range communications, weapons impact and electronic combat scoring.


We are currently hiring an Electronic Technician I (ET-I) at Belle Fourche EWS in Colony, WY to perform operations and maintenance on Threat Emitter/Radar systems at remote locations in South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming, supporting the Electronic Warfare Site - Aircrew Training Mission. Belle Fourche EWS is located about 22 miles northwest of Belle Fourche, SD and the main site is physically located in Wyoming 


The basic duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Apply basic electronics, electro-mechanical and technical knowledge to perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections, equipment servicing, operational and performance checks on Threat Emitter systems. 
  • Mechanical skills necessary for set-up and/or tear-down of Threat Emitter systems and support equipment.
  • Tasks involve the ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and following detailed technical instructions while performing maintenance activities, performance tests, alignments and troubleshooting. 
  • Perform and assist with tasks involving removal & replacement of system sub-assemblies, circuit cards, wiring, drive motors, mechanical assemblies, antennas, waveguides and structural components. 
  • Repair basic electronic assemblies down to component level and document all maintenance actions. 
  • Operate, set-up and perform electrical measurements using common test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters and semiconductor testers. 
  • Must be able to operate computers and software applications that control Threat Emitter systems.
  • Store tools, equipment and materials in an organized manner with a neat appearance.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as instructed by site management (IAW CBA).

Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be motivated to train and develop increased knowledge & skills to meet current position requirements and future position assignments.
  • Will work under close supervision, receiving technical instruction and guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician; work will be checked frequently for completeness, accuracy and quality.
  • Exposed to moderate to high noise levels and vibration. 
  • Use of required PPE is mandatory.
  • Safely work and follow all warnings & cautions when exposed to high voltages and radio frequency radiation.
  • Must be able to climb step ladders and work in elevated areas in a safe manner. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, and 75 - 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Job demands require physical dexterity and flexibility. 
  • Must be able to perform maintenance activities that require long periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting/maneuvering tools or equipment items overhead or in tight areas. 
  • Certain tasks may require moderate physical exertion while performing general maintenance tasks.
  • Overtime will be required at times to support operations and extended maintenance requirements.
  • Must be able to work Day-shift (07:00 AM - 3:30 PM) or Swing-shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM).

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associates in Applied Science (AAS) Electronics Technology degree, certificate of completion from an accredited Technical school, equivalent military technical training, or Military Training Range experience.
  • Experience with MST-T1A / MUTES, MST-T1(V) / Mini-Mutes, Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) systems highly desired, but not required.
  • Relevant experience with radar systems of any type, satellite tracking and antenna positioning systems, and work with high power Radio Frequency transmitters using TWTs, Cavity Oscillators or Magnetrons.
  • Information Technology skills in Networking and Microwave Communications systems a plus, but not required.
  • Basic Mechanical skills using hand tools, power tools and soldering equipment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read and understand written procedures, technical orders and operation manuals (required).
  • Proficient with basic use of Web-based applications & services, email and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Present professional appearance and conduct (required).
  • Understand and adhere to policies and procedures (required).
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to and from work.
  • Current Driver's License is required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • Class B CDL License highly desired, but not required.
  • South Dakota, Wyoming and/or Montana Pesticide Applicators License preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and must be granted a U.S. DoD Interim Security Clearance prior to start date and must be able to achieve a Final Secret Security Clearance and maintain this Secret Security Clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
