Senior Engineering Technician
DESCRIPTION:
Experienced electronics technician is needed for a growing high voltage power components and power supply development company. This person should be comfortable with "hands-on" component level testing of high voltage diode devices using standard and custom test equipment. Ability to connect components to test equipment, extract device modelling parameters, accurately record test data, log results in specified electronic data formats.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to the New Jersey Engineering Team with a focus on semiconductor diode testing, component level troubleshooting, device characterization and modelling, circuit prototyping, setting up test fixtures and designing custom test equipment for customer specific parameter extraction. The ability to summarize and concisely communicate test results to technical personnel is required. Find root cause/corrective action on failed units. Make improvement suggestions and characterize new product performance at varying temperatures, operational loads, and applications, etc. Design and/or build test fixtures. Coordinate with engineers and technicians as a team to accomplish project goals
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
AC/DC circuit understanding; prior experience with DC, switching, and pulsed semiconductor circuits required. Experience with voltage multipliers and pulsed power applications is desired. Good working knowledge of lab test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, pulse generators is required. Basic knowledge of MS Office suite products such as excel for statistical data recording is expected. A team player and motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and communicate well to Product Managers and Engineers.
  • Degree in Electronics Technology (AAS) with emphasis on discrete semiconductor and passive components theory and applications.
  • Solid electronic circuit understanding
  • Understanding of both development and production environments

  • Skilled in full MS Office suite
  • Good attitude and work ethic in a team environment
  • Have satisfactory English written/reading communication
  • Be adaptable to changing environments
  • Able to work with various types of lab equipment and test systems

PREFERABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with high voltage - greater than 2000 volts, Component level test and modelling experience. Chemistry experience as it relates to how discrete electrical component are manufactured.
There will be a 90-day evaluation period as a Senior Engineering Technician.
