The Campus Security Officer (CSO) provides safety, security, customer service, and emergency response services throughout Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center campuses, 24 Hours a Day/ Seven Days a Week. The CSO protects patients, visitors, students, employees, physicians, faculty, volunteers, property, and organizational assets while supporting the institution's healthcare, educational, research, and business missions.
Key duties include conducting security patrols; responding to emergencies, behavioral health incidents, and requests for assistance; controlling facility access; managing visitors; monitoring patient and public safety; supporting weapons detection and parking enforcement programs; and providing security services for special events and other specialized assignments. Officers work in a variety of healthcare, academic, research, and parking environments and are often among the first responders to incidents requiring security intervention.
