Job description

The Welcome Center Receptionist serves as the face of the RV park, creating a warm and lasting first impression for every guest who arrives. This role is responsible for managing the full guest journey from reservation through check-out, ensuring that each interaction reflects the park's commitment to outstanding hospitality. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and calm under pressure - someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Relations & Check-In/Out
• Warmly greet all arriving guests and provide a smooth, welcoming check-in experience
• Process guest check-outs accurately and efficiently, collecting payments and resolving any final inquiries
• Assign campsites and accommodations based on reservation details and guest preferences
• Provide guests with a thorough orientation to the park, including amenities, rules, and local attractions
• Maintain a professional, friendly demeanor at all times, even during high-volume periods
Reservations & Payments
• Manage incoming reservations via phone, email, walk-in, and online booking platforms
• Process cancellations, modifications, and refunds in accordance with park policies
• Accurately collect and post payments including cash, credit/debit, and electronic methods
• Maintain reservation accuracy within the property management system (PMS)
• Reconcile daily transactions and assist with end-of-day cash drawer reporting
Guest Services & Communication
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns
• Handle complaints with empathy and sound judgment; escalate to management when appropriate
• Coordinate with grounds, maintenance, and housekeeping teams to address guest needs
• Provide recommendations for local dining, activities, and points of interest
• Communicate park rules and policies clearly while maintaining a positive guest experience
Front Desk Operations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby area at all times
• Answer multi-line phones and monitor email/online inquiries in a timely manner
• Keep accurate records including guest logs, incident reports, and daily activity notes
• Restock brochures, maps, and informational materials at the welcome center
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and supply tracking
Team Support
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Assist in training new front desk team members as needed
• Support park events, promotions, and special programs when applicable
• Step in to support other areas of operations during busy periods or staff shortages
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort learning new software systems
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
• Ability to handle cash and process card transactions accurately
Preferred
• 1+ year of experience in front desk, hospitality, or customer service roles
• Experience with reservation or property management software (e.g., Campspot, RMS, Cloudbeds)
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills a plus
• Experience in a campground, resort, or hotel environment
• Familiarity with local area attractions and tourism resources
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is primarily performed in an indoor office/reception setting. Candidates must be able to:
• Sit or stand at a front desk workstation for extended periods
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. as needed
• Use a computer, phone, and office equipment for the majority of the shift
• Occasionally walk the property to assist guests or coordinate with other departments
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily indoors at the Welcome Center. The receptionist will regularly interact with a diverse range of guests and must maintain a positive, professional presence at all times. The
environment can be fast-paced during peak seasons, requiring flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities with a calm and helpful attitude.
