Job description

About Calvary Church
Calvary Church is a vibrant, growing congregation with approximately 550 people in worship that is located in Holland, Michiganโ€”a thriving lakeshore community known for its strong neighborhoods, excellent schools, and deep sense of community. As part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), we are rooted in the historic Reformed tradition while seeking to communicate the timeless truth of the gospel in ways that are accessible, authentic, and relevant for today.

Our mission is simple: We exist to reflect the love of Jesus in the world.

That mission shapes everything we do. We believe the Church exists not only to gather for worship, but to form disciples who live out the love of Christ in their homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and throughout the world. We are committed to helping people become lifelong followers of Jesus through biblical teaching, authentic community, intentional discipleship, and meaningful opportunities to serve.

Sunday worship is centered on Christ and grounded in Scripture, featuring preaching, contemporary worship, various expressions of prayer, and regular celebration of the sacraments. Our desire is to create services that are both theologically rich and warmly welcoming, providing space for mature believers to grow while making it easy for those exploring faith to take their next step.

Calvary offers vibrant ministries for every stage of life, including childrenโ€™s, student, and adult discipleship, pastoral care, local outreach, global missions, and prayer ministries. Prayer is foundational to who we are, and we believe spiritual transformation happens as people encounter God through His Word, His Spirit, and authentic Christian community.

We also believe the gospel has tangible implications for our community. Through initiatives like Shalom Village, an affordable housing partnership currently under development, we are seeking to reflect the love of Jesus through both compassionate service and long-term neighborhood investment.

Our staff culture is highly collaborative, relational, and mission-focused. We value humility, emotional and spiritual maturity, teamwork, and a willingness to innovate while remaining firmly grounded in Scripture. We are looking for leaders who love Jesus deeply, lead with integrity, equip others for ministry, and are excited to help build a healthy church that reflects Christ both inside and outside its walls.

Whether someone has been following Jesus for decades or is just beginning to ask questions about faith, our hope is that Calvary Church is a place where people experience our values: belong, believe, become, bring, and brave
