Description
This position is responsible for evaluating transfer credit for all student populations. Additional responsibilities include serving as a contact person for student and staff inquiries regarding articulations. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Essential Job Duties
  • Complete individualized major checklists in a timely and accurate manner for all accepted students met by: transfer courses, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Credit, and College-Level Examination Program credit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the University's general education curriculum, major requirements, and Alabama's two-year transfer guides;
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of transfer credit related documents including the Transfer Evaluation System (TES), including the input of all approved articulations in the database;
  • Serve as a contact person and resource for transfer credit related questions and explanations of transfer credit evaluations for the entire campus;
  • Assist with the distribution of the Petition for External Credit form for students with AP and CLEP exam credit;
  • Assist with the official document scanning and indexing for student records, maintain processes and procedures of student evaluation, and participates in training opportunities within the office and external programs;
  • Provide support to the office during peak student enrollment and degree completion cycles;
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, faculty, and other visitors while observing FERPA regulations;
  • Responsible for making sure files are up-to-date, majors are correct, and most recent transcripts received before advising cycles begin;
  • Assist with the compilation, distribution, collection, and organization of course descriptions, syllabi, and other supporting document in performing course articulations;
  • Update transfer guides for the Alabama two-year system, as needed;
  • Serve as the designated representative for transcript evaluations needed for Athletics, including prospective students;
  • Attend and participate in professional meetings both on and off campus;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, required;
  • Two or more years of experience in a Registrar or Admissions office at the college level, preferred;
  • Experience with the evaluation of transfer credit and university policy, preferred;
  • Experience with Microsoft office, TES, and Banner is preferred.
