Overview

Join Patriot's response team as an Ambulance Call Taker and Dispatcher, where your quick thinking and compassionate communication will provide support for our patient facing team members. In this fast-paced role, you will serve as the first point of contact for callers, accurately assessing situations, and coordinating rapid dispatch of ambulance services. Your expertise will ensure that every call is handled with professionalism, clarity, and urgency, making a real difference in the patientโ€™s safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls using multi-line phone systems with professionalism and empathy, providing clear guidance to callers.

Conduct thorough phone triage to assess the nature of the transport, prioritizing responses based on severity and urgency.

Gather essential information from callers, including location details, medical conditions, and incident specifics, utilizing strong communication skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Dispatch ambulance units efficiently by utilizing GPS and GIS (Geographic Information System) tools to determine the fastest routes and optimal response strategies.

Maintain accurate data entry and transcription of call details into Patriot's Management Information Systems while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Manage conflict or distressed callers with negotiation skills and conflict management techniques to de-escalate tense situations while gathering critical information.

Monitor ongoing incidents using GPS tracking and provide updates to responders as needed to facilitate timely assistance.

Experience

Prior experience in emergency medical services (EMS), or related fields such as security or first aid is highly preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency with GIS mapping tools, GPS navigation systems, and multi-line phone systems.

Strong understanding of medical terminology, first aid procedures, and phone triage protocols.

Excellent analysis skills to evaluate call information quickly and accurately determine appropriate responses.

Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations with calmness, professionalism, and effective communication skills.

Experience in data entry, transcription, negotiation, conflict management, and security protocols will be advantageous.
