Job Summary

Assists the Shift Supervisor with supervising and oversight of all monetary transactions and paper work pertaining to these transactions during an assigned shift. 

Essential Job Duties 

  1. In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, the Assistant Shift Supervisor will ensure the Shift Supervisor duties are performed. 
  2. Ensures that all activities are in accordance with approved policies and procedures. 
  3. May assist in ensuring proper staffing levels during an assigned shift. 
  4. Responsible to follow all prescribed methods of operations, which have been implemented by the Cage Manager. 
  5. Ensures that all IRS Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations are enforced. 
  6. Ensures that all paperwork turned in by other departments are properly filed and logged. 
  7. Ensures physical verification of all monetary values within the Vault/Main Bank area. 
  8. Ensures monitoring, cash maintenance, and reporting of ATM/Ticket Redemption Kiosks is performed, as required. 
  9. Ensures shift-balancing reports are prepared. 
  10. Communicates to Cage Manager any non-routine activities occurring during their respective shift. 
  11. Ensures that the field of electronics surveillance that monitors the counter tops and banks are clear of any obstructions that may possibly hinder this surveillance. 
  12. Ensures all internal control requirements are followed. 
  13. Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation. 
  14. Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners. 
  15. Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission. 
  16. Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers. 
  17. Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.  
  18. Monitor the condition and needs of equipment and communicate to the Cage Manager. 
  19. Responsible for resolving conflicts/concerns of employees and customers during the assigned shift. 
  20. Ensures proper training of all Cage Team Members. 

Supplemental Job Duties 

  1. Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards. 
  2. May verify transactions for $500 or more. 
  3. Attends all required meetings and training sessions. 
  4. Performs other job related duties as assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This position will have the authority to; make decisions necessary for carrying out the above listed job duties, make recommendations, or as directed to; hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, approve wage increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling and invoke disciplinary action within approved guidelines. This position may have other supervisory authority assigned as necessary through management. This position directly supervises, during the absence of or as directed by the Shift Supervisor, the Main Bank Cashier, Employee Window Cashier and Cage Cashier during an assigned shift. This position has signatory authority for daily cage balance sheets, payroll, soft count summary sheets, shift balance reports, inventory count sheets, forms required by Title 31, safekeeping receipts, cash paid in forms, cash paid out forms, cage personnel documentation, cage buy forms, key control logs, table fills/credits, and slot jackpots. 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions 

May be exposed to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Requires significant periods of standing, reaching, grasping and bending with periods of speaking and listening. Requires attention to detail and alertness during an entire shift. Must be confidential. 

Minimum Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Work Experiences: Requires high school diploma or GED. Requires an Associates degree in a relevant field of study, or two (2) years of Main Bank and Employee Window Cage operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be knowledgeable with Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations. Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission. 

Skills/Abilities: Must be able to work directly and interact with the general public. Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Must be able to read, understand and interpret Currency Transaction Reporting (Title 31) regulations. Must have good interpersonal skills and possess tact when dealing with guest or employee issues. Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations. Must be flexible with work shifts and days off. Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements. 

Preference: Members of the Meskwaki Nation and other Native American Tribes who are qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will be given preference in accordance to established procedures. 

Restrictions 

This position is PROHIBITED from playing all casino games while on duty, except as authorized for employee tournaments. Otherwise, this position may play any casino game while off duty. Employees and members of the household are prohibited from entering company contests and giveaways established for our guests.
