Overview

FIND Outdoors is seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual for a Cafe Associate position. This role serves as the face of the cafe, providing a welcoming and efficient experience for guests while maintaining smooth daily operations. The Cafe Associate will be responsible for retail sales, light food preparation, and ensuring a clean and organized environment.

The position focuses on operating a small cafe that offers pre-packaged food, snacks, and beverages, along with simple hot food preparation such as microwave pizza and popcorn. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling transactions, using point-of-sale technology, and interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

This role requires availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Cafe Associate must be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

FIND Outdoors serves approximately 850,000 total visitors each year at 21 recreation, education and camping facilities in North Carolina, Georgia and Indiana, all which offer the public over 150 educational and recreation opportunities and special events. In addition, FIND offers our visitors forest-related gifts, educational resources and provides partnership opportunities for the health of our forests and safety of our forest users on public and private lands.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for operating the register and accurately processing sales transactions
  • Responsible for handling cash and maintaining an accurate cash drawer
  • Responsible for preparing simple food items, including microwave pizza and popcorn
  • Responsible for stocking and organizing snacks, drinks, and cafe items
  • Responsible for opening and closing the cafe, including setup and end of day procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and overall appearance of the cafe, including light daily cleaning
  • Responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and helpful customer service

  • Ability to use point-of-sale systems and basic technology
  • Strong cash handling skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide excellent service
