Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Networks Engineer (Cables & Interconnects) to join our Electrical Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, with a focus on system interconnects, cable design, fabrication, and testing. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to assess the impact of changes on existing electronic systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, and review cable harness assemblies for complex electronic systems using electrical schematic capture tools such as Xpedition or Capital Harness.
  • Design, maintain, and review detailed interconnect diagrams for intricate flight hardware and ground support equipment.
  • Competently engage in basic circuit design tasks, ensuring functionality, reliability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Utilize knowledge of cable design, fabrication, and test processes to produce high-quality cable assemblies. Prior experience with DITMCO testing is advantageous.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the design and development process, ensuring clear communication and traceability.
  • Assess the impact of design changes on existing electronic systems
  • Uphold a high standard of attention to detail in all aspects of work, from design to documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior electrical engineering and /or test engineering experience; or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior electrical engineering and /or test engineering experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior electrical engineering and /or test engineering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in electrical schematic capture with a preference for familiarity with Capital Harness.
  • Strong Understanding of DC Power Distribution and its application in cable design.
  • Competence in basic circuit design and the ability to apply engineering principles effectively.
  • Experience in creating and reviewing engineering prints and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of cable design, fabrication, and testing, with DITMCO testing experience being helpful.
  • Exceptional documentation skills, with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to evaluate the impact of changes on electronic systems and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Applications.
