CNC Set-up Operator Needed!

We are seeking a skilled CNC Set-Up Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of the CNC Set-Up Operator is to prepare and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to specifications. The CNC Set-Up Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting tools, and configuring machine parameters in preparation for production.
  • Operate CNC machines to perform machining operations such as drilling, turning, milling, or grinding.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work/job orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Identify and retrieve raw materials for jobs.
  • Load raw materials into the machine and secure them properly.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to maintain optimal performance and achieve desired results.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve any issues that arise during operation.
  • Maintain fixturing and tooling.
  • Collaborate with team members, including programmers and engineers, to optimize processes and resolve production challenges.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Document and maintain accurate records and logs of machine set-ups, production runs, and quality checks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A technical degree or certification in machining is a plus.
  • 5+ yrs. experience as a CNC Set-Up/CNC Operator or similar role preferred.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation, familiarity with G-Code and CNC machine controls
  • Computer skills and usage required.
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain precision in machining processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions.
  • Ability to follow and learn standard work instructions.
  • Ability to run multiple machines simultaneously.
