Job description

CNC Swiss Setup Operator

Join a precision-driven team where your expertise in machining is recognized while being able to work closely with other machinists and personnel.

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled CNC Swiss Setup Operator to manage the setup and operation of our Star Swiss machines. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional capable of setting up and running 3 to 4 machines while maintaining the rigorous quality standards required for high-precision components, during a 40-hour work week. Not required but owning a toolbox and tools a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup & Operation: Perform complete setups on Star Swiss CNC machines, including setting tools and troubleshooting written programs to get the part to run within tolerance.
  • Precision Machining: Work from blueprint and previously written programs to produce parts from brass, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools to ensure all parts meet tight tolerances throughout the production run.
  • Tool Management: Responsible for sharpening, changing, and setting tools to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine preventive maintenance and diagnose/resolve mechanical or programming issues in a timely fashion.
  • Material Handling: Efficiently load/unload materials and manage equipment to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven background in CNC Swiss type screw machines, setup, and operation (Star machines preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints.
  • Critical Thinking: Exceptional troubleshooting skills with a "fix-it" mindset.
  • Team Player: A collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn new techniques while also working with others including inspection.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to handle the physical demands of a plant environment, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Communication: Ability to understand English, read prints and take instructions from management and quality control personnel-Inspection.
