What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Button Pushers position, and why are they important?

To excel as a Button Pusher, you need attention to detail, reliability, and the physical dexterity to operate machinery or equipment, often with a high school diploma or equivalent education. Familiarity with basic production or manufacturing equipment, control panels, and safety protocols is important, and some positions may require OSHA or equipment-specific certifications. Strong communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and teamwork help Button Pushers stand out on the job. These skills ensure efficient operations, minimize errors, and maintain a safe and collaborative work environment.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

Button pushers working from home can increase earnings by taking on multiple remote tasks, such as data entry, online surveys, or micro-task platforms, often paying per task completed. Earning $2000 weekly typically requires consistent high-volume work, strong time management, and sometimes specialized skills or certifications to access higher-paying opportunities.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Button pushers typically do not earn $4,000 a week without specialized skills or experience. High-paying roles that can reach this level often involve sales, real estate, or skilled trades, which may require certifications or licenses rather than a traditional degree. Most jobs paying this much weekly are in sales, entrepreneurship, or specialized technical fields.

What is a button pusher job?

A button pusher job involves operating or pressing buttons on machinery, equipment, or control panels, often in manufacturing, testing, or technical environments. The role typically requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and sometimes familiarity with specific tools or safety protocols.

What does a typical day look like for someone working as a Button Pusher?

A typical day for Button Pushers involves operating machinery or control panels to initiate, monitor, and stop production processes according to set schedules and procedures. You may also be responsible for performing routine equipment checks, reporting issues to supervisors or maintenance staff, and recording production data. Depending on the industry, you might work alongside other operators, technicians, or line workers in a team setting, often under the oversight of a shift supervisor. The role is structured and repetitive, with a strong emphasis on safety and consistent performance, so attention to detail and good communication with your team are vital for success.

What is a Button Pusher's job?

A Button Pusher is responsible for operating machinery, equipment, or control panels by pressing buttons to initiate processes. They ensure that operations run smoothly, monitor for any issues, and may perform basic troubleshooting. This role is common in manufacturing, broadcasting, and technical fields where automation or production systems require manual activation. While the job may seem simple, attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

What is the 3 month rule for jobs?

The 3 month rule for button pushers or similar entry-level jobs typically refers to a probationary period of three months during which an employee's performance and fit for the role are evaluated. Successful completion of this period often leads to permanent employment status, benefits, or further opportunities. Employers may use this time to assess skills, reliability, and adherence to safety protocols in environments that require precision and attention to detail.

Job description

Matthews, NC | $22โ€“$34/hr | Relocation Assistance Available

Own the Cut. Command the Craft.

This isnโ€™t a job for button-pushers โ€” itโ€™s for the machinists who live for tight tolerances, complex geometries, and pushing the limits of whatโ€™s possible. As a 5-Axis CNC Mill Setup Machinist at Northeast Tool, youโ€™ll take control of DMG Mori machines with Siemens 840D controls, turning raw stock into aerospace-grade components measured in tenths. If interpreting G-code, dialing in perfect setups, and chasing flawless surface finishes sound like your kind of challenge, you belong here.

At our facility located in Matthews, NC - minutes from Charlotte and within a weekendโ€™s reach of beaches and mountains - youโ€™ll work alongside a team that values precision, problem-solving, and craftsmanship. We offer competitive pay, relocation assistance for top talent, a 401(k) match, and benefits in the top 15% nationwide. Bring your skill, bring your pride, and bring your best game โ€” weโ€™ll give you the machines, the team, and the projects to match it.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Setup high-end simultaneous 5-axis CNC mills equipment (DMG Mori with Siemens 840D controls) to manufacture complex products with very tight tolerances to produce high quality parts in an aerospace environment, according to blueprints and engineering models.
  • Interpret (G-Code) programming, set up, and run 5-axis CNC mills.
  • Follow control and manufacturing plans established by Engineering for set-up and operations of projects.
  • Understand speeds & feeds with an ability to align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories; including 3D quickset and probing.
  • Responsible for selecting and installing tooling into tool posts or indexing heads.
  • Observe numerical display on control panel and compare with data on print sheet to verify dimensional adjustments on machining cuts.
  • Run first piece and check for conformance to specifications, complying with inspection requirements outlined by the Quality Department.
  • Complete critical dimension sheets as required per project.
  • Responsible to ensure team members follow and maintaining 5S in work area and performing total preventative maintenance activities; responsible for area cleanliness per 5S standards.
  • Load and unload raw material or parts into machining centers.
  • May calculate complex and/or component angles and dimensions.
  • Will use digital measurement tools with an emphasis on dimensional accuracy and precision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of precision, complex machining experience on CNC mills; multi-axis experience preferred, simultaneous 5-axis experience strongly preferred, and preferred experience specifically on DMG Mori machines.
  • Extensive experience with maintaining tight tolerances (generally 2 tenths to 5 tenths, sometimes tighter), and to read and interpret blueprints and use required digital measuring instruments.
  • Strong preference for previous experience with Siemens 840D Controls.
  • Experience with basic shop math, and familiarity with GD&T.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School Diploma/GED.

Even Better:

  • Associateโ€™s degree from an accredited college or university, or two years of equivalent higher education strongly preferred; equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in a precision machine shop with CNC Mills/Lathes.
  • Previous experience in an AS9100 Environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience in achieving surface finish requirements per customer specifications.

Not sure if you meet every requirement? Apply anyway.

If you have CNC operating experience and a strong drive to learn, we encourage you to apply. In addition to this Machinist opportunity, we also have CNC Operator roles available on 2nd and 3rd shift (with shift differential on top of base pay). Operator pay follows its own scale, with entry-level starting at $20/hour base and progressing upward toward machinist-level rates based on experience and skill development. These positions are a great way to get your foot in the door, build on your experience, and grow your career with Northeast Tool.

  • Challenging and rewarding career
