Job description

Khao Sen, in Fuquay-Varina, NC is looking for wok chefs to join the team. We are located at 2100 Gathering Square Court. Our ideal candidate will have a solid multi-year track record of producing and presenting high-end Thai wok-fired dishes using fresh house-made ingredients in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

  • Competitive pay based on experience $20+ per hour
  • Full-Time Work with overtime as needed
  • Uniforms and Free meals

Responsibilities:

The Wok Chef is responsible for prepping ingredients, preparing, cooking, and plating menu items in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes and specifications. The Wok Chef keeps their work area clean, organized, and stocked, throughout the shift.

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in coordination with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report, and follow chef’s instructions
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and all sanitation regulations and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook
  • Follows directions for preparing, cooking, and plating using Three Chamber Gas Wok
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks and following recipes
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
