Swaggin Wagon in Tulsa, OK is an asset-based transportation company specializing in the movement of frac sand throughout Oklahoma, Texas and surrounding states. Our logistic experts provide our customers a means of delivering their frac sand to their well locations on time. We offer two dispatchers and two truck pushers per job to ensure good communication.

Job Description

We are looking to hire a heavy duty Diesel Mechanic. If you have strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities, a desire to take on challenges, and are a true team player dedicated to exceptional customer service, this position may be for you.   • Conduct general maintenance and preventative maintenance on transport, bobtail and small fleet trucks
  • Able to inspect, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics and repair of minor electrical issues
  • Ensure that all repairs and PM's are completed according to the manufacturers and Swaggin Wagon, Inc. specifications and guidelines
  • Must have own hand and pneumatic tools
  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine repairs on four different manufacturers engine lines
  • Must have a valid driver license - CDL Class A preferred
  • Able to perform and complete DOT Inspections
  • Overtime is required
  • Ensure work area is clean after each job
  • Ensure all work documentation conforms to Swaggin Wagon, Inc. policies
  • Should be able to work independently 
  • Travel is required for this position - this position will work in the shop and may also work in the field
  • May be asked to participate in any other related task or activity which management determines his/her skills would be useful or needed
Qualifications
  • Specific CAT product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical and components a PLUS
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision
  • Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
  • This position requires the ability to provide accurate quotes
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical engine repairs and adjustments
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
  • Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis
  • Accurate and timely service reports and time cards daily
  • Perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision
  • Valid driver's license required, Class A CDL is a PLUS
  • Pneumatic Trailer Experience a PLUS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic computer skills
Demonstrated experience in general heavy truck repair for commercial fleet operations, including trailer repair, diesel engine system diagnostics and preventative maintenance for tractor mechanics preferred
Basic welding skills desired (such as Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, and ARC) would be a plus
Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems preferred


While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
