Account Specialist - Automotive Business Unit - NSK Corporation

The Company

The Account Specialist - Automotive Business Unit Role

The Account Specialist role in the Automotive Customer Service Department is well suited for a highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented professional. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and can quickly learn proprietary systems while supporting customer needs in a fast-paced automotive environment. This role requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while serving as a key liaison between customers and internal teams.
This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the Ann Arbor, Michigan office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer accounts within the Automotive Customer Service Department, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Manage customer orders, changes, releases, and follow-up activities to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams including sales, planning, production, logistics, and operations to support customer requirements and resolve issues.
  • Monitor account activity, shipment status, backlog, and customer requests to ensure service expectations are met.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, system updates, pricing or order-related information, and supporting documentation within company systems.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and customer-related data using Microsoft Office tools and internal platforms.
  • Support problem solving, escalation management, and corrective follow-up activities to drive issues to resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and cross-functional partners while supporting departmental and business objectives.

              Qualifications

              • Associate or bachelor’s degree
              • Relevant experience in customer service, account management, sales support, or a similar business support role is required.
              • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
              • Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
              • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and work effectively in a team environment.
              • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a customer-facing environment.

                      Preferred Experience

                      • Experience working in the automotive industry.
                      • Knowledge of SAP S/4 and Ariba systems is a plus.
                      • Experience supporting customer accounts in a fast-paced manufacturing, supply chain, or automotive environment.
