Job description

Amazon is seeking a Risk Analyst to join the Global Risk & Business Continuity team within Compliance & Data Integrity (CDI). This team identifies, assesses, and helps mitigate operational risks across Global Operations Support Services (GOSS) - working to ensure that the processes supporting Amazon's infrastructure portfolio are resilient, well-documented, and continuously improving.
In this role you will support risk assessments, remediation tracking, business continuity planning activities, and cross-functional coordination under the guidance of senior risk leaders. You'll help translate risk findings into clear reporting for leadership, track open actions through to resolution, and work across teams to ensure the right people are connected to the right problems. This role suits someone who is organized, curious about how complex operations can break down, and effective at driving follow-through in ambiguous environments.
Key job responsibilities
- Support the execution of risk assessments across operational processes, identifying gaps in controls, documentation, and recovery readiness
- Track remediation actions from identification through closure, ensuring owners are clear, timelines are met, and evidence of completion is documented
- Contribute to business continuity planning activities including plan maintenance, exercise coordination, and post-exercise findings documentation
- Coordinate across functional teams - Operations, Legal, Policy, Compliance - to gather inputs, confirm alignment, and drive action on open risk items
- Prepare clear, concise risk reporting and status updates for senior leaders, translating operational detail into executive-ready narratives
- Maintain risk registers, action trackers, and program documentation to support inspection and audit readiness
- Support the development and improvement of team processes, templates, and mechanisms that make risk work repeatable and scalable
- Identify patterns across findings and assessments that surface recurring themes or systemic gaps, and escalate to senior team members
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses as the team's portfolio evolves

About the team
The Compliance & Data Integrity (CDI) vertical under GOSS ensures Amazon's operations are compliant, resilient, and built on trusted data. This function is distinct from Compliance Operations (adherence to rules) and Strategic Enablement (capital decisions). Global Risk provides the quantified risk signals both rely on - drawing on Data Governance for inputs, Regulatory Strategy for external drivers, and Compliance Operations for control effectiveness data.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in auditing, risk management, compliance, program management, or quality management systems
- Can show strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in risk management and internal audit including: performing risk assessments and audits, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risk
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
- Exposure to business continuity planning, audit processes, or operational resilience work
